The rash of quality control issues that has hit a number of NASCAR teams may be directly related to the 1,000 pink slips handed out after last season by so many stock car team owners, according to some crew men.
A surprising number of blown engines and transmission problems have plagued the sport during the opening weeks of the new season, and some crew men point to fewer men in the shops as part of the issue.
