NASCAR cracks down on Robby Gordon for 600 violation

   Robby Gordon got zapped by NASCAR Wednesday with a $50,000 fine and 50-point penalty for a rear-end axle housing that NASCAR officials didn't like in post-Coke 600 inspections.
   Gordon, who finished third in the race, thus becomes yet another of NASCAR's small team owners hit by NASCAR penalties in recent weeks.
   NASCAR said the rear-axle housing "exceeded the maximum specified toe of plus or minus one degree."
   So Gordon was penalized 50 championship owner points and 50 championship driver points, and crew chief Kirk Almquist was fined $50,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.
   On the drug testing front, NASCAR suspended indefinitely crewman Andrew Crnkovic, of the Richard Childress-Casey Mears team, for "violating Section 7-5 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2009 rule book."
