Lynda Petty diagnosed with lymphoma

   DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.

   Lynda Petty, the wife of Richard Petty and mother of Kyle Petty, has been diagnosed with a central nervous system lymphoma, and she will be treated at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
   Petty, in a statement, said "we are thankful for the medical team at Duke. My wife is in good hands. The doctors and our family are very optimistic that the treatment for this cancer will be successful."

I knew it was serious when Mr. Petty missed media day. Our prayers are with Mrs. Petty and the family.
