NASCAR's new late-race rule will give leaders more time to battle each other, without interference from lapped cars:
NASCAR officials are expanding the single-file restart rule at the end of a race from 10-laps-to-go to 20-laps-to-go.
The single-file rule puts all lead-lap cars at the head of the pack for the stretch charge, instead of the normal two-abreast restarts, with lapped cars on the inside.
