FONTANA, Calif.
Danica Patrick got a hard reality check in her second NASCAR outing Saturday, never quite getting the feel for this low-banked, high-speed track and finishing a distant 31st, three laps down to winner Kyle Busch.
Joey Logano dominated the Nationwide 300 at Auto Club Speedway but lost on the final restart, a green-white-checkered, when Greg Biffle got him loose at the flag. That set up a duel between Biffle and Busch, with Busch winning in a photo-finish.
"That's crazy, can you believe that? That's some racing, pretty awesome," Busch said. "If these fans weren't pumped by that finish, I don't know what."
"Got hooked by Biffle. Go figure. I don't know what he has in for me. He could have done it cleaner than that," Logano said. "You keep doing that, it's going to come back to bite you. I always remember that stuff."
"He came down and tried to block the bottom, but I was already there and wasn't going to give it up," Biffle said. "Just a rookie mistake."
The action was pretty heated during the two-hour race, though the crowd was again disappointing, despite the highly-touted appearance of Indy-car star Patrick.
